Network Impact of iPad Mirroring

Details of the test network.

  • iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1
  • iMac Core2Duo, OS 10.6.8.  To make sure we were only monitoring the AirPlay traffic, we multi-homed the iMac.  Normal network traffic goes through the higher priority wired VLAN.  Only the AirPlay traffic goes through the wireless VLAN.
  • AirServer 4.1
  • Meraki AP MR16, 802.11n AP
  • Traffic Reports through Meraki's dashboard

My goal was obtained with two products, a vehicle specific mount (VSM) from PanaVise, model #751102305 and a stereo integration component from Neo Car Audio, PODGM1GV6.
